WESSEX TURN ON THE STYLE
27 October 2007
Old Cothamians Reserves 0 v 5 Wessex Wanderers
Wessex Wanderers thrashed Old Cothamians Res 0 v 5 at Canford Park to claim their six successive league victory.
The visitors dominated throughout and were 2 v 0 up at the break. A Jamie Carnevale over head kick and a fantastic Simon Mahoney solo goal gave the Wanderers a great start.
In the second half the Wanderers turned on the style and were simply too quick and too clever for a lethargic Cothamians side who simple gave the black & whites too much time on the ball. The Wessex midfield of Pullin, Webster, Curtis, Smart and debutant Simon Mahoney worked extremely hard to retrieve and distribute the ball effectively and this enabled top scorer Lewis Perryman to notch his 10th and 11th goal of the season.
Mahoney wrapped up an impressive display by providing midfield man Kevin Curtis with the simplest of headers to ensure the Wanderers unbeaten run continued in style.
